1. When and where are the 2017 rides?
The 2017 rides are:

1. Cypress Hills (July 1,2,3) - we will be staying at the rodeo grounds at Irvine, AB.
2. Willmore Wilderness Park (Aug 5,6,7) - camping grounds TBA.
3. The northern end of the Badlands at Donalda, AB (Sept 2,3,4)
 
2. How do I register to ride?
You register by going to www.WildPinkYonder.com/RiderInfo.html. There you download the registration form. Once you have filled it out, you have two options:
1. Snail mail it to Wild Pink Yonder, Box 97, Lamont, AB, T0B 2R0. Include your cheque for registration.
2 Scan and email it to Jane@WildPinkYonder.com. Then send an e-transfer to Jane@WildPinkYonder.com.
The cost is $100 for each weekend you want to ride. This covers all your meals and snacks.

 
 
3. How much does it cost to register?
$100 for each weekend you plan to attend.
 
4. What does my registration fee cover?
Your registration fee covers all your meals and snacks. You provide your own horse, tack and place to sleep.
 
5. How many riders will there be this summer?
We don't know!  We're hoping for 50 riders for each of the weekends, but really, the sky is the limit. Riders will be sent out in smaller groups, each group leaving 15 minutes after the previous group.
 
6. Is there an age limit on the ride?
Yes, riders must be a minimum of 12 years of age and, if under 18 years of age, must either be accompanies by a parent or guardian, or must assign guardianship to the Wild Pink Yonder trail boss.

There is no limit at the upper end. As long as you are confident you can ride for a minimum of 3 hours each day, you are welcome.
 
7. Are there any other restrictions?
Yes.

1. All riders under the age of 18 must wear an approved helmet. (And Alberta Health thanks you if you are over the age of 18 and wear one anyway.)

2. If you have dietary restrictions, we cannot be responsible for them. You will need to do/bring whatever is necessary for yourself.
 
8. Does my horse require shoes for these events?
It's always wise to shoe your horse when you're in terrain you don't know, but these particular rides shouldn't require shoes unless your horse is especially tender footed.
 
9. Do riders have to go for all three weekends?
No.  Riders are welcome to join us for one weekend, two weekends, or all three unforgettable weekends.  It is their choice, but they must register for each weekend separately.
 
10. How much money must each rider raise?
Each rider is responsible to raise a minimum of $50 for each day he or she rides with us, but that's just a bare minimum.  We have prizes for those who raise the most on each weekend, and we're working on a super prize for the highest fundraiser overall for the year. (Our highest fundraiser to date collected $12,000 in donations, which was extraordinary ... and has never been repeated! Might you be the one?)
 
11. Where do my donations go?
Every cent that you raise as a rider goes directly to CRINA (Cancer Research Institute of Northern Alberta).
 
12. What is this organization called CRINA?
CRINA stands for "Cancer Research Institute of Northern Alberta". It is a group of cancer researchers spread over many faculties at the U of A in Edmonton. They look at cancer from all angles.

Their objective is to get the latest advances in cancer research from the laboratory to the patient ... so they focus on:
 
           - cancer biology
           - novel therapies and biomarkers
           - prevention, lifestyle and survivorship
 
13. What specifically do you fund?
We only fund breast cancer research, because without research there will be no cure.  
 
14. How much money have you raised in total?
In total, over eight summers, we have raised $903,013.07.  
 
15. Will I get a tax receipt?
You will get a tax receipt if you are donating on behalf of yourself. If you are collecting donations in order to ride, the tax receipts will go to those who donate to you. All donations of more than $10 will get a receipt. Smaller donations will be gratefully received, but they will not get a tax receipt.

Tax receipts will come at the end of the season. They will be written by the University of Alberta, not Wild Pink Yonder.
 
16. What is the overhead for Wild Pink Yonder?
Wild Pink Yonder Charitable Society has just one employee who works out of a home office. Our overhead is as low as it can go.

When we get out on the trail, all others are volunteers.
